Sophia Mody is a highly qualified and professionally registered Speech and Language therapist with over 20 years work experience treating children up to the age of 18.
Sophia graduated with a B.Sc. in Audiology and Speech Therapy and then completed a M.Sc. specialising in Speech Rehabilitation.
In addition to her regular speech and language therapy clinics, Sophia was an area manager and clinical supervisor in the NHS for eight years. During her career she has worked in a range of community settings including clinics, nurseries, mainstream schools, special schools and children centers.
Her vast knowledge and experience in supporting children, provides a holistic, outcome focused approach, enabling children to achieve their aspirations. Sophia Is able to deliver I CAN accredited Primary Talk Program.
Over the years Sophia has developed extensive contacts with a range of highly skilled and specialist health and educational professionals. This has resulted in excellent integrated working relationships to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and their familes.
The needs of the child and the anxiety of the parents/carers is understood by Sophia and this is continually addressed by developing a professional support structure and friendly relationships.
On an ongoing basis Sophia keeps up to date with the latest research as well as the local and National policies for patient care. She has been trained to deliver many formal therapy intervention programmes. This includes; Language Intervention Programme, Parent Child Intervention, PECS Training, Makaton, Lidcombe Training for Stammering, Michael Palin Stammering Approaches.
